Office Lunch for Small Teams in Islamabad: 5 to 15 People, What Works and What It Costs

"Hum to sirf aath log hain." We hear it every week — a startup in Gulberg, a clinic in G-8, a design agency in Bahria, a lawyer's chambers in Saddar. They've read about office lunch plans, assumed those are for companies of fifty, and gone back to ordering from apps every day at Rs. 600 a head.

So, plainly: yes, the daily plans work for small teams. Most of our office clients started small. This post is the honest version of how it works at 5 to 15 people — what changes, what doesn't, and what it costs.

What doesn't change

The rate. Economy Rs. 250, Silver Rs. 300, Gold Rs. 350 per head per day — the same published prices on the meal plans page. There is no small-team surcharge and no "minimum order fee".
The food. Same four-week rotation, cooked the same morning as everyone else's, delivered on the same routes. A team of eight gets the biryani on biryani day, not a smaller version of it.
The terms. Billed only on serving days, monthly, with an NTN invoice. Public holidays free. Pause or stop with a message.

What changes at small size

Boxes usually make more sense than daigs. A daig for eight people is a lot of washing up for a small office. Most small teams take individual food-grade boxes at Rs. 20 per head — sealed, portioned, nothing to return. Teams with a proper lunch table and a helper still choose daigs (free).
The fixed rotation, not the custom builder. Our custom plan builder is designed for teams of 20 or more; below that, the three fixed plans are the right tool. You can still swap a dish you dislike — that's a WhatsApp message, not a contract change.
Your slot rides on a route. Small drops are grouped with nearby clients, so we'll agree a realistic window rather than a to-the-minute time. In most areas that's a ten-minute window around your break.
Headcount honesty matters more. When eight becomes five because three people are out, tell us by the morning and we bill five. At small size, every head is a noticeable line on the invoice — so we make it easy to confirm the number daily.

What it costs — real small-team numbers

5 people, Economy, boxes: 5 × (250 + 20) = Rs. 1,350 per day → about Rs. 29,700 for a 22-day month.
8 people, Silver, boxes: 8 × 320 = Rs. 2,560 per day → about Rs. 56,300 a month.
10 people, Silver, daigs: 10 × 300 = Rs. 3,000 per day → Rs. 66,000 a month.
15 people, Gold, boxes: 15 × 370 = Rs. 5,550 per day → about Rs. 122,100 a month.

Compare that with what a small office actually spends on apps: Rs. 500 to 700 per person per day, plus delivery fees, plus the forty minutes everyone loses deciding. For a team of ten that's Rs. 110,000 to 150,000 a month — for worse food. The full math for any size is in what office lunch actually costs.

Is there a minimum?

Not a hard one. The standard plans work from small teams upwards, and we've run plans for teams of five. The honest caveat: a very small team far down a route — say four people in a corner of Rawalpindi Cantt — may not be practical for either of us, and we'll say so instead of promising and missing. Anywhere on our regular delivery areas, five and up is normal.

Two things to decide before you start

Who confirms the number each morning. One person, one WhatsApp message by 10 am — "8 today" or "6 today". That's the whole admin.
Boxes or daigs. Boxes if people eat at their desks or at different times; daigs if you have a table and eat together. You can switch later.

Small teams that grow

Several of our 40-person clients were 8-person clients two years ago. Nothing changes when you grow except the number you send in the morning — and at 20 the custom builder opens up if you want it. There's no re-signing, no new rate, no "enterprise tier".

Questions small offices ask

Can we do three days a week instead of five? Yes — some small teams take lunch on their in-office days only. Tell us the days; billing follows.

Can two small offices in one building share a delivery? Yes, and it's a good idea — separate invoices, one drop. We'll coordinate.

Do you still bring a free sample for a small team? Yes. A sample lunch is how every plan starts, whatever the size — it is the only honest way to decide.

We're a clinic — lunch times are staggered. Boxes, delivered before the first break, labelled. Common for clinics, salons and showrooms.
